UPDATE

There has been a lot of action up here at Balm Beach over the last week and much media coverage.  Here are answers to the most frequently asked questions:

Regarding the chainsaw attack on the fence:

                The fence has been repaired.

A gentleman from Unionville has been arrested and charged.

One of the fence owners did sustain some minor injuries.

PUBB issued the following statement after the incident:

PUBB is very sorry to learn of the physical action taken against the fence on the south side of Balm Beach and wishes to make it clear that this action was not supported in any way by PUBB.   Doug Lorriman, PUBB spokesperson, said “although our objective is to see the fence removed, we have promoted from the beginning that this be done through legal means.  We do not condone destruction or violence.  We do not feel that the action taken yesterday helps our cause or Balm Beach.  It does, however, underscore the frustration that many people feel from the lack of political leadership on this matter.”

Thank you for all the updated information.
We need to get the positive actions and strategies back in the forefront here.
Let's get back to beautifying our beach.
I would like permission to re-post this valuable information on my blog.

That fence will fall!

I have been a Balm Beach property owner since the 1950's. The day that John and Elizabeth marion will usurp my right to access my beach will never happen.

That fence is going to come down again....and again, and again, until the lunkheaded Marions get the message.

They have already cut off their nose to spite their face; their property value has plummetted to a fraction of its potential value...and they, of course, are pariahs and ridiculed in all of Tiny Twp.

The fence will not stand for the summer. It will be removed before Labot Day, and there will be several thousand triumphant Tiny Twp. landowners who will cheer that act.

PUBB you must speak up NOW!!!!

No more quiet little comments saying you condone these actions. The people out there feel that you are doing nothing and perhaps the only way to settle this is remove the fence themselves.

The latest incident is proof! or maybe not! I would hope that someome would not go that far and shoot the Marions' truck. But such marks on a vehicle could be made by many different things, other than a gun. Just something to ponder!

May I ask a couple of questions? ones I have never heard answered and perhaps should be answered!
1. Have the Marion's property taxes been adjusted to reflect their new boundary lines?
2. Who is paying for all the extra OPP calls since the fence went up? Perhaps the Marions' should be held accountable since they are the ones calling all the time. Over 100 calls for service since May 24 weekend!

And please make your group more visible to your many supporters! Take advantage of all the free publicity, tell our story every time Marion tells his!

Here's an idea that you should all truly think about...it will probably add fuel to the fire but why not limit access to the water for the Marions...

Have many beach goers bring chairs for a legal sit in at the waters edge...getting as close to the fence as possible. Action is the only way to be heard on this nonsense. I still have family up north and still have access to the beaches (all beaches as far as I am concerned).

Pick a weekend to do this sit in...I would say this coming long weekend would be the best time to pull this off....bring your chairs to the waters edge and restrict access for as long as you can...call the media and show that you can have a non violent demonstration that opposes restriction to beach access.

Concerned beach go'er (S.T.) you know who I am!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
