Blog Reopening

This blog has been silent for the past few months because many of our members have been away or otherwise engaged.  But summer is coming and the fence is still an issue here Balm Beach.   We will restart our use of the blog to keep you up to date on matters pertaining to the fence and general beach access and use in our community.

Please stay tuned.

We have an absolutely wonderful beach here, with beautiful sunsets. We have people from all over the world enjoy their summers here, whether it's visiting family already in the area or the family cottage. The beach is filled with families and lots of laughter. We who live here year round enjoy the company of the travellers and learning about where they come from. We are a friendly laid-back community. We would love to keep it that way.

The business owners and some of the people close by the beach, plant flowers in the boxes around the beach to help make it a more inviting, friendly environment. There is also a small group of residents, that, before you come up on the long weekends take time out and clean up the beach so it's ready for your enjoyment.
They used to also scrape and level all the beach area from the Public washrooms, down past the Sunport resort.
Yes that's right...I said 'used to'.

This beach has been used as a public beach for many, many generations and the family traditions carry on. There are pictures at the Surf Restaurant that show how it used to be, before the current homeowners were even born, or just babies themselves. There wasn't a road here, (Tiny Beaches Rd. S.). People would drive on the beach to get to their cottages or pull up anywhere, park the car, picnic and swim. There didn't appear to be any boundaries.

It's sad the greed of some have to ruin it for others. I guess it wouldn't be so bad if the homeowners actually used the beach themselves. Maybe it's the mentality, "if I don't use it, you can't either?"
Pitiful actually, simply pitiful!!

No matter how this homeowner and the other beach front homeowners helping their cause try to make this a privatized beach......in my opinion, it will never happen. There are more families here that appreciate what they have in front of them and the gift of natural beauty they behold. They will always let the public sit in front of their homes and enjoy what belongs to everyone.

All they ask is you clean up when you leave.
